While I understand that this is your perspective, I feel that unless the IT department specifying security parameters bans lock screen access to widgets, then it should be up to the discretion of the user about what information is available. And beyond that, the security is used by average...

Already tried that; the moment any security is enabled, it disables all widgets on the lock screen.

They should give us the option, at least to some basic functions. On my iPhone, with its very basic/minimal customizability, I can still choose what shows and does not show on the lockscreen, and I have access to my camera. Even Siri is accessible and turned off if desired. As it is, I cannot...

No luck there. It seems as though with a PIN/Pattern enabled, lock screen widgets are disabled; the only ones accessible are the music controls (if music is playing) and the default Samsung time..

Hi guys--received my GS4, tinkering around right now, but does anyone know how to enable lock screen widgets with a security PIN enabled? I seem to be able to have one or the other but not both, and it's driving me nuts. My exchange email requires a PIN.
