I have the update (I'm in Wales), but apart from getting rid of the blue icons, I have little to no change in appearance? There's no transparant status bar or app page. It took ages to update when all it did was change my lock sound and remove the blue symbols which actually looked quite nice...

Ever since the latest update, creating wallpapers from stored images isn't as great as it used to be. The images turn out to be bad quality on the screen; even ones that I've used before and had no trouble with. Anyone else experiencing this? It's very annoying because I can only use stock...

I don't believe that's possible; neither of my previous android phones could modifity the app and widget backgrounds, either... Maybe a rooted phone could do that? You'd have to check with a skilled rooter, though. c:

It's actually not that hard; I had the same worry about the camera, but... Hell, even in portrait mode the flap doesn't flop around like a fish out of water! And in landscape it easily just hangs below the phone. It'd definitely take some getting use to when you haven't had to deal with it...

So the update is what caused my brilliant battery life? I only got my Nexus 4 last week; Thursday, I think... So it prompted an update and almost straight away once I had it set up. The battery life is so much better than any phone I've had before!

Since you don't have insurance, the best thing to do would be to contact the phone company and get an estimate. Until then, since those estimates are far from reliable (when time is involved), use a simple camera for photographs. I don't think anyone here can give you an accurate price and...
