I found that changing my router settings ipv6 from auto detect to 6to4 tunnel fixed my notification issues. I'm still evaluating whether my battery is better or worse.

Thanks for the info, I think the LG NFC app is junk. I downloaded NFC Task Launcher from Tagstand: It works consistently. They also gave me two free tags.
