Thank you so much, everything worked perfectly after realizing adb wouldn't work. Lesson learned: Never panic!

It does, however, say under Device Manager that it is a "Android ADB Interface" (on my phone I'm stuck at the bootloader screen)

I'm panicking and scared. I got stuck at the boot animation of my Nexus 4 after I attempted your suggested reset, and now after canceling it (after a half hour) I can't even get into recovery AND adb does not recognize my device. I'm attempting to re-install drivers, but... please HELP?
