Thanks very much for responding, All permissions are turned on for the apps but that hasn't changed that it still uses the default message tone. I was hoping turning on the 'App can appear over others' might help, but it is greyed out and I can't switch it on. I've tried looking up solutions...

Hey guys! I've recently upgraded from a Galaxy s3 to a Note4. What I've found is happening, is that apps that have previously had their own notification sounds and light colours (Skype, Gmail etc), now all use the default sound and light colour. I'm not sure why this is or how to fix it, google...
