    Galaxy S8 / S8 + Battery Life Thread

I'm coming from Project Fi and a Nexus 6P to T-Mobile and an S8+. It has taken me some time to get used to Samsung's skin and to get the phone setup the way I like it. I didn't give the Wifi Calling thing a 2nd thought until I finally started really looking at battery life. I was getting...

    Galaxy S8 / S8 + Battery Life Thread

I noticed that my standby time has greatly improved by turning off t-mobile wifi calling. I didn't have a problem getting through a day, but it annoyed me that the phone would drop so quickly when I wasn't even using it. Now it is much better, even connected to my Gear S3 all day.

Any way to shoot Photosphere photos with the S8?

Sharing them to Google maps is a good way to keep record of adventures. If I can't reliably do these with an S8, which should take higher quality 360s than the 6p, i'm going to be disappointed. https://goo.gl/maps/fX9g7ky6kpG2 https://goo.gl/maps/gvVYPVjeAB82 https://goo.gl/maps/My6bDTznW5m...

Any way to shoot Photosphere photos with the S8?

Pretty much the same way I feel. I take Photospheres and publish them to Google Maps all the time. I was expecting the experience to be better on my GS8+ than on my Nexus 6p, but that clearly isn't the case. I reached out to Samsung Mobile USA via twitter. Hopefully they can tell us why the...

Any moderate to heavy users think 32 GB will be enough with all the cloud storage options?

This is my concern with the 32GB unit. I suspect that the storage performance of the 128GB unit will be much improved. Hopefully someone will post some tests soon.

Is anyone on Project Fi yet?

For anyone asking about group messaging, there are problems if you have integrated Fi texts and voicemails into hangouts. If you want/need proper group messaging you lose the ability to get texts through hangouts. For me I'm using messenger until they fix the hangouts issues. If you do it this...

T-Mobile data overrides wifi; T-Mo auth request to blame?

Bringing this post back from the dead. This month i'm having the same symptoms, although the discrepancy between data reported via Android and T-Mobile is much more extreme. T-Mobile sent me a text today saying that i'd use all 5GB of my data. Android's data usage app shows roughly 800MB for the...

So When Do You Think Google Will Activate LTE On The Nexus 4?

I don't think this part gets talked about enough. The reason we all love our LTE so much on Verizon is partly because their 3G is really, really, slow. When my Verizon phones slip back to 3g in my area, the data speeds are so poor as to make basic streaming impossible.

TheVerge and Engadget reviews disagree over CPU, battery and display

They look terrible because of how they are presented. Look at some of the ones popping up on Google + and you'll change your mind. They are presenting 3d material in a flat "strip" and "doing it wrong."

    [GUIDE][Ubuntu] Compiling Android from Source

yeah, that is strange. I've had file permission issues with Ubuntu building before. Sudo su seems to fix it, but it would be nice not to have to resort to a sledgehammer

    [GUIDE][Ubuntu] Compiling Android from Source

Thanks for the guide! I am using this guide and trying to build for the nexus 7 (grouper) with the nexus 7 drivers instead of the tuna drivers listed in this post. When I get to the lunch command and make my selection, i get a bunch of permission denied errors. I re-did this section of the...
