Just installed it. Used the Bing app to download and it installed without problem.

Thanks man. Yeah does show up in the downloads folder, but when I click on it, it asks me to select an app to open it, with only two options that have nothing to do with installation. Will give it a try again. Cheers

The XDA link worked but the downloaded file tried to open as a document. Don't know what I could be doing wrong

Tried a dozen times and gave up. All three links that I've tried to download from fail to install and try to open as a document instead.

I don't think the pixel phone app is in the play store, it's just a third party app with the same name

Dude I have no idea what you're talking about. Just got my 6p a few days ago and read that was the best way to get the latest OS.

Not as knowledged as most on this forum, but if it is possible to start afresh, it's much easier to enroll in the beta program, upgrade via the OTA and then unenroll. That's assuming what you're sideloading is Nougat.
