    Shaders and Performance

Sure, modern games like Asphalt 8, Modern Combat 5 or Smash Hit use a lot of shader effects. And I believe that there are some photo manipulation apps that use the GPU for image post processing. Absolutely. Try Monjori Shader Benchmark, it will give you a rough idea about the GPU's performance...

recent apps button not working properly.

Do you have a third party launcher installed? I had the same problem until recently and posted a workaround on the official bug tracker: https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=64020#c14 See post #14.

anyway to fix touch recognition issues?

Factory resetting is harmless and does not damage your hardware! As far as I know more or less ALL 2nd gen Nexus 7 devices suffer from this issue. (Mine does too.) It seems that the touchscreen is not correctly grounded which in turn leads to erratic behavior when not holding the device in...

    this tablet won't play movies!

What streaming site are you referring to? If it's a well-known and legal source, there might be an app to help you out. You can also try this: http://www.androidpit.com/install-flash-player-on-firefox-android-4-4 Posted via Android Central App

Not all files in the Download folder are visible in Windows Explorer

That's strange, I've never seen a behavior like that. But I think I have a similar, probably related problem: When I create a folder on my tablet (using Solid Explorer) the folder will either be invisible in Windows Explorer or it will show up as a single file, not a directory. I never found a...

Not all files in the Download folder are visible in Windows Explorer

You should be able to see the files, there is nothing obviously wrong with your setup. The only thing that comes to my mind is that MTP connections in Windows can be flaky. Try to restart your tablet while it is still connected to the PC and see if the files show up after that. Posted via...

Help Decide between 2012/2013 Nexus 7

The Tegra 3 being great for gaming is more or less a marketing stunt by Nvidia ;-) I have/had both versions of the tablet and games on the 2013 model run faster and look better, even the so called "Tegra optimized" ones. To put that into perspective, look for a little app called Monjori Shader...

Gaming on the 2013 vs 2012?

I know Modern Combat 4, Bards Tale and Ravensword and they all look and play MUCH better on the 2013 model. I'd say the frame rate is at leat 2-3 times higher. The Tegra 3 is a very old chip by now and will struggle with most modern games. Posted via Android Central App
