I disabled the notification before I decided to finally go with the update. If I remember correctly, long press the notification, select App Info and I think there is a check box to turn off or disable the notification.

I'm in the same situation with my account. Just got my new One V and the first thing I did was connect it to the wifi and start installing my apps. Made my first grooveip call too. :) No reason any of that will cause a problem activating the phone when I get to it.

Yes. Just activate the phone on your account and everything switches to the new phone. And, you don't need to call. It can be done through the web.

It probably varies from person to person because 3G can fluctuate so much, but I find GrooveIP breaks up too much over 3G to be acceptable. So, I stick to using it over WiFi at home and regular minutes when on the go. Since it suits my schedule each month I don't have any reason to worry...
