Could be. It was working up until about two weeks ago. Maybe some update changed the functionality.

The "Play sound on connected display" option is gone. The display below has no selections:

Thank you both, however I don't always have the option to connect wirelessly to the display I'm using I am not seeing anything showing that Dex is enabled, nor any way to switch it off:
