I got it figured out. I ended up having to unlock the device and flash 4.1.1 back on to it. After that I was able to get the OTA updates up to 4.2. What a pain...but now i want to root both of them along with my new Galaxy Nexus coming Tuesday.

So I have been trying to no avail to update my Nexus 7. I have gotten it to start updating about 8 times now and each time about 1/3 of the way through the installation process it aborts (red triangle thingy). I have never rooted or unlocked this device. It did just come back from Asus though...

My wife and I both have Blackberry 9930 Bolds and are fairly content with them but would still like to upgrade. The problem is we are still under contract for nearly 6 months and there is no way I am going to pay full price for any phone. We also have a daughter who has been working her butt off...

So I have two Nexus 7's. One is a 16gb and the other is a 32gb. I did the update on my 32gb last night with no problem what soever and I love it. The 16gb however is not working. It showed that an update is needed. It downloaded and went to restart/intall and I got a android dude laying down...

LOL it was an analogy, not a factual statement. They didn't steal anything. It was a mismanaged situation. Pretty sure there isn't a single person that pre-ordered from the Play store and thought they would get their N7 after it was available in retail stores.

Now please don't flip out and get all pissy, because I feel that is where this is going but...Even if the stock for each is fulfilled by 2 different suppliers doesn't Google still control when they are allowed to be sold? I don't find it that crazy of a an idea but can understand if you can...

Given the several screen shots of emails from Google to Gamestop telling them to hold off on the release date shows that Google still had control over when the tablets would be sold. Regardless of the different stock orders they still had control and chose to release the people who order later...

I half agree/disagree with you. Correct- A preorder is not a "ADVANCE" on the bought item. Incorrect- A preorder is a promise of a copy on release day. Ever preordered anything before from Gamestop? I would be willing to bet that people who preordered a video game and then got told "Sorry...

I don't think it's new, I just never noticed it but has it always said SHIPS SOON on the google play store? If it is new i still don't think much of it but am curious as to the change.
