    bluetooth and headset out?

Go to settings->wireless and networks->bluetooth settings, you should see your headset listed at the bottom under bluetooth devices. Long press on it and choose options, and there should be seperate checkboxes for media and calls.

Captivate general sluggishness and poor performance

It makes a separate partition using the ext2, ext3 or ext4 filesystems, as opposed to the RFS that samsung uses, so that apps have a faster way to read/write data. Quadrant scores shoot through the roof because the filesystem input/output scores are so high after this mod.

Everything You Need To Know To Un-"Cripple" Your Captivate

You'll need to root your phone before you can use the 'su' command in adb.

    Post your Samsung Captivate Screenshots!

Updated mine quite a bit, found some neat new widgets. Far-left is buzzbox, next screen has the stock FB & search and then Scratch Pad and To-Do List widget, third is my home screen with 3g watchdog, setcpu, temp+CPU V2 (i know they're sort of redundant, but the second shows cpu usage and...

Be careful with the phone. Sad Day.

It's meant to resist scratches, it's def. not invincible. Search youtube for Galaxy S durability testing and you'll see; it's nigh immune to surface scratches but if you drop it and it hits hard enough it can still break.

Stock vs. Rooted+Lagfixed Captivate - Lag differences [Video]

http://forum.androidcentral.com/showthread.php?p=299891#post299891 ^^ Enjoy! I just updated it a tad since SuperRooter got updated to include the overclocking kernel. And yes I made a nandroid backup via ROM manager before proceeding (this is also covered in my guide), thankfully I haven't...

    Installing LagFix

Yes, SuperRooter removes just about all traces of ATT on the phone (even the boot video, yay!). The original thread lists all of the changes involved if you're curious.

    Installing LagFix

It's night and day, seriously. Anyone who doesn't mind hacking their phone a bit should try it; and designgears just put out a new version (can be found via the original thread post above) that includes 1.2ghz OC, USB tethering, mobile AP and GPS tweaks. I'm running TI backup even now in...

Stock vs. Rooted+Lagfixed Captivate - Lag differences [Video]

You might be able to scratch the SU app theory; the ninja's what I had on stock firmware. My current one appears to be a pirate, yarr.

    Installing LagFix

Guide: Installing SuperRooterExtreme for noobs (incs ext4 lagfix, root, overclock) EDIT: I've updated this slightly since SuperRooter now has a new kernel as well for those looking to overclock. I've got a better reply for you now, a step-by-step (nearly) :x I too thought it sounded like too...

Stock vs. Rooted+Lagfixed Captivate - Lag differences [Video]

When I said what you wrote was incorrect, I was referring to the implication that what you were experiencing was an intended behavior, since it's not. I'm pretty sure your issue lies elsewhere; it sucks that's happening for you, though :/ FWIW, I was on a rooted stock firmware earlier. I...

    Installing LagFix

If I understand everything I read about the lagfixes correctly, what they do is make a partition on the internal SD card to improve performance by apps that read/write from the sd card. The only ones that seem to work with the stock JF6 firmware use the ext2 filesystem, which is vulnerable to...
