Re: screen Overlay Detected Power off. Reboot into safe mode. Alter allowed permissions in safe mode. Reboot. Bingo! Problem solved. This is the only procedure which worked on my S7edge.

The only thing that worked for me, on my S7 edge, was to reboot into Safe Mode. When in Safe Mode, you can alter the permissions required, then re-boot to normal. Bingo! All apps working again. Hope this helps. If you're unsure of how to enter safe mode, you hold the volume up key while rebooting.

Awaiting delivery on the 8th - direct from Samsung. Have already bought an SD card, 32GB, but should have probably bought a larger one - time will tell.

I have a spare battery and charger (Samsung) so a restart has to happen when I swap batteries. It seems to do no harm and I've read that a regular restart on any computer system aids optimum system performance.
