I would assume you're referring to the micro-USB port that has fallen off. I'd first try claiming warranty for that. Alternatively, you can purchase a DK26 charging dock.

I've had similar problems and I found out that when the device's clock and date settings are too far off (like after a hardware reset), Google Play won't allow you to connect.
