I too had reception issues on my device. My son didn't have reception problems like me I'm the same exact spot

are you sure you didn't crack your screen trying to get the screen protector off?
you would be able to see those cracks through 2 screen protectors. they wouldn't hide that.
That's only in government positions not the normal public.
Huawei phones work perfectly fine. The only issue is No "HD Voice" (VOLTE) and wifi calling because AT&T blocks those features on BYOD phones.
I remember when 4G (LTE) rolled out. Horrible modems, horrible battery life, hot phones from said signal problems.
I'll gladly wait until a complete rollout and mature devices.

It can be fixed if you are rooted and have a custom ROM/kernel with kcal support.
If you are not rooted you can try sfilter filter app from the play store pick the color black as the filter, then set filter opacity to 5%

H910 is what you want that's fully compatible. H918 is T-Mobile, and VS995 is unlocked which "should"work on all carriers. I'd triple check on that last one though. If you want HD Voice and wifi calling to work I would stick with the H910 version though. ATT are a-holes when it comes to unlocked...
If you get the international (not China) versions it has Google play like normal.
