Thanks for the reply, but I should have said I tried that, first thing I did, I've had a similar issues before with memory cards.

Issue: Open camera (stock) on the P9 and take photo, shows up in the gallery box in corner, if I exit camera photo is fine. The problem arises if I then try to take another photo straight after the first i.e. person didn't smile the camera won't take a photo and when I exit and re-enter camera...
