Thanks for the feedback everyone. She went to the store yesterday and tried the M8 out. The speakers are really the main issue with the phone. She is almost never going to listen to music/games through the speaker so their added height to the phone is pretty much useless.

I have the 4 gig and love it. I don't have any experience with the 2 GB so I can't compare. It really meets mine and my 8 year old daughter's needs pretty well. For what it doesn't do, I just use Chrome Remote Desktop to get access to my I7 Windows Desktop. It is really great.

I'm actually writing from a Acer C720 Chromebook right now and I can confirm that it does indeed work to Chromecast from Chrome on the Chromebook.
