I find the gps on my unit to quite good after the initial ~1 min or so to get a cold lock. Never had it drop on me and subsequent warm locks are much faster to acquire, about 15-20 secs or so..

I'm trying to figure out if the poor sound playback is inherent in the design or just present on my phone. So far I've had none of the common issues on my unit except for slow gps lock. I just started using it for mp3 playback and whether through the speakers or my set of Ultimate Ears the music...

Right under the model number, where you gave ##-##. That's the manufacturing date, mine is 11-11. On another note from what I've seen all the newer builds seem to have 6 bar codes instead of the 7 on the original run.
