    Going Caseless

Caseless with a tempered screen protector here. I store it in my front pocket pretty much all the time, so it's not exposed. I've dropped it a couple times, and even had it fly off of a treadmill shelf (yanked the headphone cord...oops) and had to replace the screen protector once. I'll admit it...

Google Keyboard on LG G3, YES!

Keyboard question: is there a keyboard which has a "paste" function from either the 1-deep clipboard or (preferrably) the clip tray? There are several *infinitely annoying* apps which disable the touchscreen clip function. I don't need to copy (the Google results winner when searching for paste...

LG G3 - How can screen timeout be disabled with Tasker

FWIW, I'm using Stay Alive for keeping the screen awake and fully lit.

    G3 Battery Life?

I switched from an iPhone 5 to the G3 last summer and, honestly, there is almost no difference in battery life. If I use it a lot, I *can* run the battery down in a few hours, but on a typical day I'll go from fully charged to ~40% battery at the end of the day. I'd guess I'm getting 4-5...

    Awful G3 Standby time

Yes, the phone's algorithm for 100% seems to be based on a voltage which is lower than the fully-charged threshold. I live in an area of awful service - over a large hill from the close tower, but ~3-5 miles from the next tower that isn't obscured by a mountain. The phone switches from LTE to...

So..... the LG G3 compared to iPhone 5s

I switched from an iPhone 5 to the G3 on Verizon, my wife has a the 5s. Here's what I've found so far: The camera is very good, I think in low light there may be a touch more color noise. After so many awful android phone pictures I've seen this was a big deal for me. I've been very impressed...

Chasing down Pop up malware or adware

Hmmm... Didn't notice - thoughts couldn't have been since it was on the lock screen. I just had another pop up for a game - are those really allowed in ad-sponsored apps?

Chasing down Pop up malware or adware

First time Android user here - new LG G3, rooted (IOroot). I just started getting pop ups on my screen which look like Malware. The most recent was The page at 'http://www.googlandroid.com' says: Detected you are using an expired Android Keyboard! Update to the latest version (TouchPal)...

An Apple Fan's Review of the G3

Thanks for the review. This will be my first Android device after 3 generations of iOS and a couple generations of WinMo before that (I don't churn mobile devices except when my carrier foots the bill for the upgrade). It makes me feel pretty good about my jump. My iPhone5 has regular app...

    LG G3 Wireless Qi charging

Does anyone know if the output from Qi vs the Powermat receivers is substatially different, or if they both just supply a +5V and ground across the pins? If it's the latter, couldn't you hack in a Qi receiver and add copper foil and dielectric tape, adding "traces," to shift the pin locations...

Anyone move from the iPhone 5s?

If the M8 shares the unibody aluminum construction of the 5 series iPhones, that's reason enough for me to skip it. That soft aluminum scratches if you look at it wrong, and gets beat up pretty badly. And, unlike the glass iPhone 4 (which was a dream to fix the back on - two screws and a slide)...

Anyone move from the iPhone 5s?

Good to know. I'm switching from i5 to G3 later this week (verizon) and go back and forth as to whether this was a smart move. I've been iOS for almost 5 years, having chosen it over Android way back when due to app store completeness. Previously I had 2 WinMo devices and had also grown tired of...

if Verizon prices the G3 at $299 on contract, will people buy it?

Some people will, but to get $299, I think they'd have to offer the 2/16 version at $199 to imply the "value" of the added memory. Apple users seem to be content to buy the first 16GB of flash for $100, and the next 32 for another $100, as insane as that sounds. (And I've done it before; and...

    LG G3: Verizon

What is the draw back to the 2GB main memory, or to the 16GB for that matter? In the former, how often do you run out of RAM on your handset, and what were you doing when you did? In the latter case, wouldn't a 128GB uSD fix the space issue (and probably for less than the cost of the upgrade to...
