Soft keys unresponsive after I337UCUGOK2 update

I know it's been awhile since your post, but I'd bring your phone to an AT&T corporate store to see if they can resolve this for you. Something went wrong in this last update, and they may be able to help you even if your phone is off-warranty.

    AT&T Galaxy S4 : Official Lollipop 5.0.1 Update Thread

In the time I've been using Lollipop, I've become convinced that the OS name was well thought out. With all the nanny-type warning messages that pop up for different reasons, this is apparently an operating system aimed at 3 year-old's! I'm tired of having to acknowledge the same messages over...

    Missing Notification Icons - Lollipop

So that I can better understand your problem in comparison to mine, do you have any apps that should continually populate this part of the notification bar whenever they are active? When this problem occurs, do you see any messaging or email notifications when you receive either? Is this problem...

    Missing Notification Icons - Lollipop

Well, I've either phrased this question in a way that is beyond everyone's ability to understand, or there's no one with any ideas on what's happening. The fact that no one else is having this problem tells me that there's some interaction with one or more of my apps. I don't use a task killer...

    Notification bar disappearing at random?

So, Lollipop solved the problem for her, and created the problem for me. Boy, that sounds like Android in a nutshell. When I was on the previous version, 4. 4. 4, icons would randomly disappear from the app drawer. I could still launch the app by pressing the screen where the icon used to be...

    Notification bar disappearing at random?

I'm curious. What version of Android is your mother using on her G2? I ask because I'm using a Samsung GS 4, and I'm having a similar problem only since upgrading to Lollipop 5.0.1. The notification icons on the left side of the status bar spontaneously disappear. The icons on the right side...

    lock screen

Pull down from the top of the screen, tap the "settings" icon, select "my device", then "sounds and notifications", scroll down and tap "while locked", and select "do not show notifications". That should do it.

    Document Files

I would not arbitrarily delete anything you can't positively identify as unneeded. I would, instead, use a established app to remove any unwanted space-hogging stuff. I personally use CCleaner on my S4. Even with that, you still need to be careful what you're deleting. You can also try moving...

    Missing Notification Icons - Lollipop

I upgraded to Lollipop 5.0.1 on April 9th. In the past week, I've noticed that my notification icons will randomly disappear from the left side of the status bar. Generally, this area is populated with icons from running apps such as Lookout, Sound Profile, and Transparent Weather Clock. When...

    AT&T Galaxy S4 : Official Lollipop 5.0.1 Update Thread

As far as I can tell, the only way to return to that functionality is through the use of a replacement launcher. I have Apex Launcher on my phone, and although I'm not using it by default for now, I found that this key will bring up the settings menu as before.

    Lollipop Update Pros & Coms

Now, if you really wanted to get anal about upgrading, you could make sure all your "mission critical" apps had been updated for, and are compatible with Lollipop. The major problem with any Android update is that once you jump in, you can't go back. So, if everything works well and you're...

    Lollipop Update Pros & Coms

As anxious as we all might be, I probably wouldn't be the first one to do this upgrade. I'd wait a few days, maybe even a week, before installing this. Past experience tells me that some important functionality will be either lost or changed. Let other people serve as the guinea pigs, and then...

    App Icons Randomly Disappear

OK, so I wiped the cache partition as recommended. However, I continue to experience the "disappearing icon" issue. Again, it only seems to occur randomly every few days, and it never seems to affect the same app. To illustrate the problem, I'm attaching a screenshot of a page of the app drawer...

    App Icons Randomly Disappear

I'll try that and see if the "disappearing icon" problem is resolved. Since that problem didn't happen every day, it'll take a while to determine if I was successful. I'll give it a week, and post back with the results. Thanks!

    App Icons Randomly Disappear

I have had my GS4 for about one month now. It was purchased new and loaded with KitKat 4.2. I upgraded to 4.4.4 shortly after getting the phone. Recently, I've found that random app icons will occasionally be missing after booting the phone (the problem is inconsistent). The icons will be...
