    Verizon Update

Doubtful that this update will have any impact on that. Appears to be fairly small...probably just bug fixes and/or carrier stuff. You're odds getting root, at least anytime soon, are pretty scarce anyway given how long folks have been working on getting the bootloader unlocked with no...

I have a Droid Turbo, wanting to know if I can make my icons smaller?

Re: I have a droid turbo, wanting to know if I can make my icons smaller Another vote for Nova Launcher. Not only can it make icons smaller, but you can also add extra rows/columns to your homescreen and app drawer as well.

Will a 1Ah output power bank be compatible with my Droid Turbo?

Re: will a 1Ah output power bank be compatible with my droid turbo? Assuming it's a standard USB 5V DC output, yes, it will charge fine at 1A, just not nearly as fast as it does with a the included Turbo charger.

    Droid Turbo: Lollipop software update?

Keep in mind I don't have any insight or knowledge as to how Verizon's deals with manufacturers work, but I doubt that this is the issue. I would assume that their contract would be to include all necessary software updates, and not an a la carte sort of deal where the carrier is able to pick...

    Droid Turbo: Lollipop software update?

I don't necessarily think it's off topic or a tangent when the questions arise because of concerns people have about upgrading in the first place. Another tip, if you use a 3rd party launcher, like Nova, you can also easily backup your desktop configs, which to me is one of the more tedious...

Why has my battery life declined so rapidly?

Re: Battery help Highly doubt it's Nova...I've been using Nova Launcher on my Turbo since I got it, and haven't had any issues in that regard (And I've been using Nova on my other Android devices for years). Looking at your screenshot, in the 10.5 hours on the graph, there were at least 3...

    No reboot obtion?

Stock Android hasn't had a "reboot" option by default for a while (if it ever did). A lot of the OEMs add it to their custom builds, i.e. the Samsung Galaxy and Note series both have a restart option under the shutdown menu. You used to be able to just bring up a terminal emulator window and...

Verizon Motorola Droid Turbo Stock keyboard or SwiftKey?

I don't think Swiftkey has the programmable shortcuts, no, but the prediction is so good that normally 3 letters are all you need to for it to give you the match you're looking for anyway.

Re: Stock keyboard or SwiftKey? [VOL-] works as a CTRL key in most terminal apps.

    Droid Turbo: Lollipop software update?

Does Motorola *always* soak test their updates? (serious question, this is the first Moto phone I've owned in a while). Even if so, what if that date of Dec 16-17 for the soak test itself? Don't get me wrong, I'm still skeptical...I'm not sure why VZW would push the "Advanced calling...

Do you think the Droid Turbo will ever be rooted?

First of all, what probably will not happen is an unlocked bootloader. Root may be obtained if someone can find an vulnerability to exploit, but it's impossible to predict if and/or when that will happen. Without the unlocked bootloader, however, that means no custom recovery. I'll be honest...

Do you think the Droid Turbo will ever be rooted?

I think the title of this article is VERY misleading... the "XT1225" is the "Moto Maxx", or the international version of the Verizon Droid Turbo. I'm pretty sure that is what this procedure is for. As far as I know, there is still no root method available for the Verizon version. EDIT: Just...

iMessage with Android? Thinking of switching from Apple, but...

*IF* you were to switch to Android, my recommendation would be to have your family members use Google Hangouts for messaging amongst each other instead of iMessage/Text messaging. Google Hangouts works great, you can access, send and receive your messages on your phone or computer, has the...

Latest system update breaks Google voice.

I've installed the latest update and just test my VM service, and Google Voice is still working. Not sure if it makes a difference, but I set up GV as my voice mail provider a LONG TIME ago, back when you had to dial a series of numbers on the phone and couldn't set it up on the app or online.
