Sweet, thanks! As a fellow developer, just a question.. do you know if the built-in Facebook app's syncing (or HTC Sense's implementation) use a different API or so to fetch the photos? Just wondering since I didn't have any issues when using those methods on my old Gingerbread phone.

+1.. I don't think it's necessarily a Profile Picture gallery permissions issue, because I'm seeing it across the board even with friends whose album I can view on facebook. The status updates do come through fine, but pictures don't get updated at all after the initial sync. Perhaps an option...
