By far the best app for your situation is Audio Control. Separate Notification, Ringer, and speakerphone volumes for ICS+. You can even schedule all sounds by day, time, location (with Tasker), car dock, headset.. and just about anything you can think of. You also get 12 widgets, 8 shortcuts...

I wrote an app called Speakerphone Control that will fix some of your problems without the need for root. Speakerphone Control gives you a separate volume control for the speakerphone and reverts back to the regular in-call volume when the call has ended. Hope that helps!
