    Question about Gorilla glass

Has anyone found a screen protector that allows for smoother movement than over the gorilla glass surface? I have noticed that when I have been using it a lot (like say when playing Fruit Ninja) it gets a bit grabby and my fingers don't slide across it as easily.

Tmobile G2x Wifi Hotspot getting charged?

I have a very good friend who is a network engineer for Verizon Wireless. I assure you I do know what I am talking about. They can't look at every packet you send across their network, it's technically infeasible (not to mention it creates a privacy issue when it's done sans a legal warrant)...

Tmobile G2x Wifi Hotspot getting charged?

While I suppose there is the possibility of them putting a flag into the tethering option in the OS itself (thereby identifying those using it), short of doing some deep packet inspection none of the cell operators can tell with no doubt that you are tethering with a direct connect option (like...

Tmobile G2x Wifi Hotspot getting charged?

In the five years I have had T-Mobile service I have tethered via USB, dial-up, wi-fi and bluetooth and I have never been charged an extra fee for it. The consensus via various online communities I have visited is that you can use it without fear of getting charged (so far I have not heard of a...

    FM Radio?

According to the XDA forums there is an FM radio in the phone but it's missing some software components to make it work. There is definitely a radio in the LG Optimus 2X and I don't see why they would change the hardware just to suit T-Mobile. There are probably just driver issues or a software...

    How do I format videos?

You need to use the baseline profile for HD main. The high profile will choke the Tegra 2 (or so I'm told, haven't tested it myself). The only file I have viewed on it so far was a 45 minute TV show. I used Handbrake and set it up for 720p, mp4(H.263) and set the total bitrate at 4000 and it...

Hey look: engadget is reporting about the g2x quad band 3G issue

Did they ever say that the phone supports those frequencies or did people just assume? After all the LG Optimus 2X is a quad band phone and the G2X is essentially the same device with stock Android in place of the LG UI. But did T-mo have LG make a special version of the phone without the...

    First Impressions and User Reviews

Just got mine. It was an upgrade from an original (jailbroken to work on T-Mobile) iPhone so it's actually a pretty dramatic upgrade for me. I have wanted an Android phone for a few years but after all my research I never quite found the phone that fit (the Nexus phones both came really close...
