Help Me Pick A Decent Case Note 10+

I used to use Spigen cases for many years, plus I gave OtterBox a try...but, for my past three phones, I've used the UAG Monarch. As for my (already pre-ordered) Note 10, my (already ordered) new UAG Monarch should be arriving around the beginning of next week.

    Regrets

I don't regret upgrading for even one second. I had an S6, and pre-ordered the Note 7. After the recall, I was forced into downgrading, so I got the closest thing (spec-wise), an S7 Edge. When the Note 8 was announced, I preordered (unlocked), and was fairly happy with it. The only reason I...

Unlocked vs. Carrier Galaxy Note 9

Sorry for the delay. I checked, and I still have Verizon TMP coverage. As for TEP coverage, I can't claim to be 100% certain, but, if you had TEP coverage on your previous phone, and you activated your new phone directly with Verizon (ie. you did NOT activate at Best Buy, Costco, etc), I see...

Unlocked vs. Carrier Galaxy Note 9

With an unlocked Samsung handset, you also gain the ability to use Samsung Cloud (it's blocked in the Verizon-branded handsets). As for "carrier bloat", yes, it's still a 'thing'...and Verizon is one of the two worst offenders.

Unlocked vs. Carrier Galaxy Note 9

I had my unlocked Note 8 on Verizon, and covered under their TEP, so I don't see any reason why an unlocked Note 9 couldn't be covered. Granted, I haven't actually taken care of that,. myself,. but I will tomorrow, and will update here.

    First Impressions

I've been reasding up on the Dome protector, and, while it does appear to provide the best protection, as well as the greatest amount of touch-sensativity, it has FAR too many problems to make it worth trying. There are LOTS of complaints, and almost all of them relate to the same problems...

    First Impressions

I went from the Note 7, to being forced into something else (S7 Edge, in my case), to the Note 8, and now the Note 9. I'll be compleyely honest...after "playing around" with it for the past two days (received mine early Wednesday morning), don't find a lot of differences between the Note 8 &...

Unlocked vs. Carrier Galaxy Note 9

Got mine activated as easy as could be. A pre-activated microSIM was included in the box (along with the Note 9, and AKG headset), which, upon initial booting of the phone, took care of most of the "connection" to Verizon. I did, however, have to call Verizon, to have them send a 'refresh'...

Unlocked vs. Carrier Galaxy Note 9

If there's no SIM card installed, there's your problem. I find it "unusual" that there was no SIM card inside the box. When pre-ordering, even though you selected an unlocked handset, it would have asked you what carrier you would be activating it on, so that they could include the SIM card...

Unlocked vs. Carrier Galaxy Note 9

Shouldn't be. I received mine this morning, and I've had it working ever since. One question: Is yours a Sprint-branded unit, or an unlocked unit? Mine is unlocked, and I had to call customer service to complete the final activation step (this was probably because it's not "officially"...

Unlocked vs. Carrier Galaxy Note 9

I have neither seen, nor heard of, any actual Samsung stores...meaning, a literal "Samsung" brick-and-mortar store. The only thing even close, as far as I am aware of, are the "Samsung Experience" locations within most Best Buy stores. That being said, I received my 512GB Galaxy Note 9 (see...

Unlocked vs. Carrier Galaxy Note 9

That's "strange"...and not in a good way. I've been to three different locations (two of which I no longer go to, of which Best Buy's corporate offices are very aware as to why...out has to do with Best Buy, not Samsung Experience), all three of which had fairly knowledgeable people. At the...

Unlocked vs. Carrier Galaxy Note 9

It's not just about the increased storage capacity...there's also the increased memory. The 128GB model has 6GB RAM, the 512GB model has 8GB RAM. Regarding internal vs external storage, you also need to remember that internal is ALWAYS faster than external. A perfect use-comparison would be...

Unlocked vs. Carrier Galaxy Note 9

Part of the reason...and you would experience this on ALL carrier's networks...is that each carrier has the manufacturer (any manufacturer) add carrier-specific functions/fractures, and remove/block certain manufacturer-specific features/functions. On the case of Verizon, some examples would be...
