This was my experience at well. My Note 4 scanner was horrible and I disabled it within a few hours, even after I tried setting it up differently 2 or 3 times. My Note 7 works just as well as my iPhone 6s+ from the first time I set it up.

Honestly I'd feel better about getting a new note later rather than sooner to make sure it goes through thorough testing. I wouldn't want a fixed battery only to have a different problem arise due to rushing the phones to market.

Yes that's the unfortunate part. I've bought a Spigen case and a cable for my car charger. Luckily the case was on sale and I got the $20 Samsung Pay promotional gift card after I bought my $18 cable, so I'm not that much out of pocket. I'll still get a Note 7 updated unit. I just hope...
