If it has to do with phone updates...why does this +1 only happen to me when I tap a number from a GOOGLE SEARCH, and NOT when I tap a number from a BING search?? Seems to me that tells that it is purely a google search problem...not the phone update.

Did not work for me. I went to settings, turned off assist, turned off all the country codes, turned on US dialing, restarted the phone even, to no avail...BUT...I tapped a phone number from a BING search (was experimenting to see if this was perhaps a google search problem) and guess what?? NO...
