My phone has always been on FASTboot and I honestly NEVER SHUTDOWN the phone; only press the power off to shut off the screen. I figured that was shutting it off. And that would be for MONTHS now. I never SHUT it down because I obviously need it on so I can continue to get calls, messages, etc..
