There is mot as such tools to restore messages but try to use Android data recovery. There are certain steps for recovering but I'm not sure though.

If you want to try Android O and your mobile is rooted then try to install substream engine from play store and install Android O theme it is working awesome. It changes your interface just like Android O try it out.
