Yes. Unfortunately, that was one of the first things I tried that didn't solve the problem.

I have a Galaxy S9 with T-Mobile. It has the OS in the screenshot below. For some reason, and I believe it happened after a software update, but now when I use my wired ear buds, the notifications are set to vibrate only. When someone calls the phone, it rings, but not when I receive an SMS...
