Ok. Worst-case I can switch to T-mobile for a bit I guess. When I spoke with their support they said the tier 2 support people would only be able to help if I have a T-mobile account. Was hoping to avoid making that switch, but it might end up being the easiest way to get this one unlocked...

No SIM in it right now -- I'm trying to unlock it from T-Mobile so I can use a different network (Cricket). Honestly until you mentioned Straight Talk I'd never heard of them as a provider -- maybe that's who I should be contacting to unlock?

HI mustang7757, I registered just after I posted. Anyhow, there's no T-Mobile Device Unlock app on the phone (and I can't seem to find it in the Play Store either). That was the first thing the tech support guy I spoke to tried to have me run. Think it's possible the app is hidden somehow...
