I've used Touchdown and Enhanced Email for the last year and a half. Both let you bypass your companies mobile phone security policy. Overall, I like the feel of EE. My only complaint of EE would be it doesn't sync Tasks or Notes.

Do you have those folders synced? In email, go to Menu/Settings/Sync,Send&Receive/Folder to sync and make sure you have the folders you want synced checked. I only sync my Inbox, Sent and Trash so Im assuming this will work for you.

I noticed about a year ago at&t started throttling data speeds 'while on a call'. Im in a 4g (not LTE) area and usually get 6 down/3 up. During a call I get .8 down/.01 up. MMS fail to upload while on a call.

Have you tried turning on "Noise suppression"? Menu/Settings/Call/Additional settings I was having a voice drop out issue and this worked for me. I also have an Otter Box.
