I use the huawei email app. Does it also happen to you?

I recently got this phone and I noticed that everytime I receive my notifications there are new emails but sometimes old ones too. Usually I receive only old ones. Could this be caused due to my poor connection or some configuration in my email app? Android 7.0 Huawei Nova 2 Plus
