To end this thread, had a look and then removed it due to questions about safety of this root. If the tab needs rooting in the future I'll do it the old-fashioned way.

Not the sharpest knife in the drawer when it comes to Android but I re-rooted the TAB and this time got a menu on SuperUser, so I'll leave it on for a while and see what can be done.

Short while ago I rooted my TAB 2 10.1 via PC & KingoRoot and then removed it. The installation/removal went smoothly and quickly. It installed it's own version of SuperUser which seemed to have limited access e.g. I could use the boost & clean function but nothing else. No response to either...

If it was a glitch in Developer options, I'll know what to look for if it happens again. CPU usage overlay sure looks like the culprit. thanks

further, the button "Show CPU usage" was not on when this process was running, No buttons in Developer options were on otherwise that would explain it.

That's exactly what was showing. I've since done a hard reset and it hasn't come back. The problem seemed to have happened after I went into widgets. The process you show was visible on all pages regardless.

Nothing there to help. External keyboards not being recognized in input methods as Samsung keyboard default is fixed. Thanks for suggestion.

None of the options turned on so I turned on USB debugging to see what would happen.
