Were your lag/freeze-up issues ever resolved? I am experiencing the same random laggyness and freeze ups, and I think it's related to Chrome, but I can't be sure. A reboot always fixes it temporarily. BTW, is your tablet rooted? I don't know why that would be an issue, but I used Towelroot...
