No corporate email. And I am fine with kit kat at this point, it's been so long. My concern is what's going on. And I just read that this error also does not let you do a reset... I guess my next move is to reach out to t-mobile and then Samsung unless someone else has solved the issue.

I have a t-mobile note 4 completely stock, never rooted. I have tried 4 times now to install the lollipop update but I get an error as soon as it tries to install. It then reboots and acts as if nothing happened. Right back to 4.4.4 So I investigated a little and went to wipe the system cache...

If your volume rocker is fine try using go launcher paired with go locker. you can use your volume rocker to unlock the screen. My lock/unlock has been recessed for months and this has saved me.

I use go launcher which allows the use of the go locker lock screen app. Go locker allows you to wake up the phone with the volume keys. no root needed!

From HTC: I dont really see what the safemode would do to fix anything (even tho i tried it) since its definatly a hardware problem... Anyway the speaker only rattles every so often now...
