I find that HSPA is plenty fast for my daily usage, and only turn on LTE manually when it starts to feel slow. It doesn't seem to be too detrimental to battery life though. Haven't tried keeping it on all day yet. On Telus in Vancouver.

As with everyone else, I find that my N4 is much faster and smoother than my N7, particularly in OS transitions and effects. Opening up the apps drawer on my N7 almost seems in slow motion now...

I've had a few on my N7 as well but I can't possibly see the reason behind disabling emergency alerts... isn't the point of such an alert to... alert you?
Calm down. There's still three full business days to go. When I ordered my Nexus 7s it took a ... unusually long time for the truck to reach Redmond (I'm assuming it makes other stops along the way) but once it reaches Redmond, it'll be across the border and in your hands within one business day.
From my experience with two Nexus 7s being ordered, all that information shows you is the destination facility. It's more than likely in a truck, travelling across the US. Assuming this will follow the same UPS routes as my Nexus 7 orders, in a few days you'll see the truck arrive at Spokane...
