well, after rolling through all the updates, there was a series of like 3 (including one where it put a Puerto Rico build on it?!?) it's back to 11 & 3.0. Very weird. I know I'm on the latest set of patches because voicemail access to Google Fi is now broken in the Samsung dialer. ;)

got the 11/3.0 update a few days ago (factory unlocked on Google Fi). Last night, I was rolled back to 10 and 2.5 (Oct 22 kernel). But oddly there are more updates waiting. Weird. Edit: so I let it run through the updates, it had a Puerto Rico (N986U1UES1ATK1) designation briefly (!) not sure...

So I saw some news that Samsung was rolling back Android 11 and OneUI 3.0 on S10 series phones due to issues. Well, that update disappeared off my Note 20 Ultra 5G last night and I'm back on 10 and 2.5. :( Has this happened to anyone else? I see there are more updates available on my Note now...

Cool. I mentioned getting voicemail transcripts in a text on my Samsung. Well, that happened exactly once and hasn't happened since. the rest say "no transcription available" or some such. hmm. the voicemail playback is still available within the Samsung dialer. have to dig down a bit to get...

I know I'm replying to an older message, but yes Wi-Fi calling works on my Note 10+ 5G. I get the little icon in the dialer.

What phone dialer are you using? Is it Pixel specific? I have a Samsung Note 10+ and I don't see transcriptions in the (Samsung) dialer, but do get voicemail transcriptions via text.

well, in my case on a Sony Xperia XZ2, Pie did manage to bork the radios; they just reset themselves constantly. In Safe Mode too so no app involvement.

yeah I think they broke it. Sony Xperia XZ2 users (who just received the update today) noted this as well.

Received Pie on my Sony Xperia XZ2 today, which was unexpected as we thought it wasn't going to be released until Nov. Only problem is it made the XZ2 mostly unusable; at least from a connectivity standpoint. For some reason, the Wi-Fi and mobile networks just keep resetting themselves...

I don't think the Google Pixel's (and Pixel 2's) support RAW either and they produce great JPEGs. the problem with Sony's IMX400 camera package in the XZ's and its lack of OIS means they have to raise the ISO up higher than other cameras (when everything else is equal) and have noiser images as...

no one has mentioned it in the early reviews so I would guess not. honestly, I'm not sure what their hang-up is about RAW and the Camera2 API as well.

I'd advise people to go out and check out GSM Arena's photo compare tool with the XZ2. Sony definitely is using the new Spectra 280 ISP (which they apparently helped design) to their advantage. Would like to see samples ftom other sources too, but if these hold up they've definitely made...

Interesting though, if you watch/listen to the latest MacWorld podcast, he said he gave up the iPhone X to his wife at the end of the review period, because he spends much of his year reviewing Android phones. But the podcast is overall your typical Apple tongue-bath.

Sigh, the Sony Xperia's have had that for years. It's the best compromise in scanner positioning I've found. The Razer inherited that feature from the Nextbit Robin.
