It cannot search the cable DVR. I do, however, have access via the DVR button on the keyboard. The keyboard, essentially, is a Harmony remote with keyboard. Very nice.
I just got my Logitech Revue yesterday and it's working great. The integration with Comcast was easy and seamless. I'm really enjoying it. Here's my setup video from beginning to end:

I'm very happy with the Nexus One(AT&T) and even happier after using the EVO. The speed of the N1's UI as well as data speeds trump the EVO. No dropped calls on N1, either....in the same places where my iPhone 3Gs would always drop calls.
Very satisfied.....and I haven't even rooted yet.
I'm in CT and am having signal issues. I performed a side-by-side test with my friend's Touch Pro 2. He was getting 3 bars and EVDO while I got between 0-1 bar and data at all. I drove around as well and discovered drops in the EVO where the TP2 had none.
Not from what I just watched. The choice I need to make is between the Nexus One and EVO. I have both and am still within the return window for the N1. I think I'll stick with the EVO, especially with AT&T data caps.
