Being outside I have also noticed huge battery drain by google location services which are checking locations very often with gsm net. In addition to switching off network based location services I suggest, for even better savings, to switch off location services for google (google settings app)...

All having a problem with a big battery drain on Note 3 - Simple switch off location service based on networks (Settings->Location services->use wireless nets (or something similar - I use Polish menu). This will help:) Have fun!

This settings is not an issue. I agree, it helps to stop battery drain but the problem is the bug in Google Play Services (or it is not a bug but Goggle intention) letting use it (net based location service) thousands times per hour(!) (checking your location based on network) - confirmed with...
