I'm not experiencing what they describe in that thread. My auto brightness does increase and decrease brightness as it should. Problem is that it will only decrease when laid flat on its back. I find it really weird and annoying.

That thread has proven hard to find. So you're auto brightness only dims when laid flat?

No screen protector or case here. It is indeed interesting. And very annoying since it's one of those things I can't stop noticing now😡

Ok so after an hour or so I realize that my phone is doing the same trick again (almost). It takes like 10-15 min to auto dim. Notice that I'm lying in bed in a pitch dark bedroom. Seems like a small thing but it really bugs me and I'm not interested in clearing my partition cache several times...

Much obliged! True, it's not the fastest but atleast it works now so I'm happy.

So my brand new s6 doesn't seem to auto dim the screen brightness. If I hold it next to a lamp the brightness will increase, as expected, but when I turn off the lamp and the room is pitch dark, the screen brightness remains the same no matter how long I wait. However if I turn the screen off...
