    2.2 Froyo Update - Report & Find Solutions to Issues Here (post #1 & 2 updated 8/8)

I'm also noticing several issues when using Android Market after upgrading to 2.2. 1) The download doesn't immediately start, like its trying to connect to market, but no data transfered. 2) 3G signal drops and I'm forced to stop and start 3G services in order for the download to resume. 3)...

    EVO randomly rebooting??

Phone keeps booting and booting... After the 2.2 update my phone reboots constantly. The reboots happen often when I'm browsing the Web, downloading from Android Market, using Google Maps. Also noticed that the phone loses 3G connectivity often, that I have to stop and start the 3G service...

    2.2 Froyo Update - Report & Find Solutions to Issues Here (post #1 & 2 updated 8/8)

Battery life on 2.2 is horrible I posted a entry earlier today about "apps gone wild". None of the proactive measures to control background updates helped. I removed the task manager based on the recommendation. Apps still run like crazy. My battery used to carry me through 13 hours on 2.1...

Controlling "Apps Gone Wild" in the background on 2.2 Here's what I found... After upgrading from 2.1 to 2.2, initially it seemed that various apps just seemingly were trying to run in the background. After some investigation, I realized its possible to prevent this battery sucking madness...

    2.2 Froyo Update - Report & Find Solutions to Issues Here (post #1 & 2 updated 8/8)

I did a hard re-set, but that was a waste of time... The issues with not being able to control apps randomly running in the background is severely still continues to consume battery power. Not sure if its that the "background sync" setting is not managing this or if the task manager is not...

    2.2 Froyo Update - Report & Find Solutions to Issues Here (post #1 & 2 updated 8/8)

Can be disabled, but doesn't do it You can disable, ie uncheck "background data", however if you verify if this is being enforced, you will be surprised to see a bunch of apps running in your task manager.

    2.2 Froyo Update - Report & Find Solutions to Issues Here (post #1 & 2 updated 8/8)

Cannot turn off background data After upgrading to 2.2, I've discovered that its not possible to disable "Background data". This was useful in that it prevented all the apps from trying to sync, send and receive data in the background. From my tests, turning this off / on / off did not help...

No sound for Video files transfered from EVO to Windows

After transferring the video clips I took on the EVO to my Windows device, the file does not play the audio portion of the video. I transferred the file by directly connecting the phone to my Windows 7 system using a USB cable and mounting the SD on EVO. Is there a way to transfer the file...

Battery life with 4G only enabled

Has anybody tried running their phone with only 4G enabled and turning off 3G? Wonder how much battery life 4G consumes as the only wireless signal enabled.

Manual camera / video settings available? Does anyone know if the cam/vid settings can be manually adjusted? Or are we stuck with some general presets?

Bad memories brought on with the 4 buttons

Hey from personal experience using the Blackberry, my hand muscles tensed up, especially since you're holding the phone in somewhat of an awkward "pinched" manner. This is a known fact about people getting repetitive stress disorder. I play guitar, so my hands are pretty strong and I'm also...

    Post your 4G/3G speed!

4G speeds in non-officially turned up 4G location My 4G speed test out of Brooklyn is anywhere from 5 ~ 8Mbps. 4G isn't officially turned up yet in this area... Turned off 3G while conducting tests. Also only getting 1 or 2 4G bars.

Bad memories brought on with the 4 buttons

I'm wondering the same... Physical buttons break over time, get stuck from dust and liquids getting into the button crevasses, but most importantly, wouldn't it cause hand fatigue? I use the standard buttons on a capacitive touch setup and would imagine that physical buttons would cause some...
