How do I open an mms .pdu file on GNU/Linux?

Post #6 specifically says that it won't get into opening the pdu files after I have them, but I will give it credit for teaching me how to get to the pdu files at all. Photorec accomplishes the same thing, but is much easier to do. However, photorec won't recover anything from the pdu files.

How do I open an mms .pdu file on GNU/Linux?

I'm trying to recover text message image attachments from an LG G2. I managed to get an lbf file off of the (now non-functional) phone and followed the tutorial at https://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/help/extract-file-form-lg-backup-lbf-t3362923, and now I have a folder with a bunch files named...

I need to get an LG G2 out of a bootloop without losing data

7 isn't that old. I consider a device "old" when its hardware becomes incapable of running typical modern workloads either at all or with acceptable performance, requiring the device to be demoted from its role as a primary device or retired completely. The thing is, I want to enter fastboot...

I need to get an LG G2 out of a bootloop without losing data

Yeah, I tried XDA already. Nobody responded. It really isn't that old of a device, mine just happened to have some manufacturing defects that made it become unusable as a phone prematurely, but I guess people like to treat their devices like disposable trash. What do you mean by "turning off...

How do I save all of the text message image attachments in bulk

The risk of that happening was exactly why I DID NOT want to root the phone. Unfortunately, the crackhead UX designers made it impossible to do such a basic operation without risking the entire phone. I hope either the Librem or the Pinephone take off so I don't have to deal with this kind of...

I need to get an LG G2 out of a bootloop without losing data

I was trying to get some data off of an LG G2. The battery died, and when I charged it up and rebooted it, it bootlooped. I did just root the phone, but this was not the first reboot after rooting it. I had rebooted it 2 or 3 times before with no problems. I can think of three possible ways to...

OK, never mind. I got root. It should be smooth sailing from here.

How do I save all of the text message image attachments in bulk

The new phone has app data that we want to keep, which to my knowledge there isn't a no-root way to back that up. I do not have a USB OTG adapter, so I have no way to connect the two phones with a cable. I have never had Google's back up and synchronization actually work, so I don't trust it...

How do I save all of the text message image attachments in bulk

There is no ~/Pictures/Messaging on the phone. Google Photos opens to a view of all the albums on the phone similar to how the gallery app opens. None of those albums contain the attachments. The menu does not have a "Device folders" option.

How do I save all of the text message image attachments in bulk

Reddit, XDA, and LTT were of no help, so I'm coming here. My mom decided to keep a bunch of photos stored permanently in the text messaging app. Whenever someone sent her something, she wouldn't actually save it, just leave it in the messaging history and dig through the relevant messages...
