I'm anxious to hear from other Verizon G5 users. Sounds like your phone, taco-man is operating correctly, or at 2.0 speed a least, which is better than my phone and others I've tested... I may just trade phones in your sleep... But it is curious about what the difference could be.

This is quite surprising - Thank you for sharing this! Is that the only 3.0 charger you have? These are the 3.0 chargers I have tested my Verizon G5 with and found NOT to work with 2 other Verizon phones. 1. Anker Power Port 2.0 2. Aukey Dual Port Car Charger 3. Tronsmart WC1T

Just a quick update. I went ahead ordered a replacement device from Verizon - just on the hope that maybe this was an issue affecting early released devices. The replacement G5 exhibited the same issue. I understand that Verizon engineering has confirmed and is now working on this issue...

Disappointed... Just received an OTA update for the G5 through Verizon, and it did not resolve the 3.0 charging issue...

I don't either, which is why I'm looking to hear from others. All I know is that the Verizon G5's I've tested don't work, yet a T-Mobile G5 worked with the same chargers... Something's up...

What wireless carrier is your G5 labeled under? So far, users in this thread have reported that G5's released in the U.S. by T-Mobile and AT&T are operating as expected with respect to Quick Charge 3.0 operation & compatibility. G5's by Verizon are the only phones affected to date. I'm hoping to...

I spoke with Verizon about the issue about 4 days ago. They told me that they didn't see Quick Charge 3.0 in the phone's specs, only 2.0. I provided them with links from the QUALCOMM site and others stating Quick Charge 3.0 as a basic feature of the G5. They said they would escalate the issue...

I just received my SHARKK 3.0 wall charger as recommended in this thread. Unfortunately, my G5 presents the same symptom - it says "fast charging" for a couple of seconds and then reverts to standard charging. I tested with multiple USB C cords of acceptable quality, including the stock LG cord...

**UPDATE - This issue only affects Verizon handsets as of 4/21/16. G5 Handsets by other carriers do not appear to be affected. PSA: I can confirm that there IS an issue with the LG G5's Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 compatibility with at least some "certified" 3rd party Quick Charge 3.0 chargers...
