I've made a few posts about rooting, asking if I should, what the benefits are, etc.. and I have finally decided it is time. I have two questions. 1) Should I use Titanium Backup to backup all my apps BEFORE I root? Or is that only for once I am done, loaded with a ROM and have all my apps...

Awesome. When I rooted my DX, I managed to get it OCd to a steady 1.37Ghz. Any faster than that and I would start to notice hiccups and temperature spikes. Still though, 1.37Ghz was not bad back then, lol.

Awesome. What ROMs are you guys using? I really want to go with CM10, just because that is the one i know the most about, but I know there are a few other good ones out there. Mainly I want CM10 because of the support it receives.

With that step it depends on the connection you are getting. Its trying to connect to the servers through either 3G or Edge. If you are trying in a spot that has crappy connection, you wont get it. Try doing that step in an open location (Grocery Store, Library) whatever, and see if it works...
