Hey has anyone found a long term solution to this? This was happening on my mums phone last month so I disabled both FB and messenger and then reinstalled them (as she uses it all the time, and that's where she wanted to share to), and it worked for a few hours then I had to repeat this...

It worked for me. This just started happening on my Mum's phone a few days ago, she couldn't share anything from the gallery. Regardless of stored on the internal storage or sd card. Though when in FB Messenger, it could send a photo from stored in the gallery oddly enough? Saw your post today...
