After trying the toothpaste idea, I received numerous scratches on my lens, leading me to contact the head of the company and obtaining a new device. This can be avoided my using a less abrasive alternative, such as your finger and a lens wipe.

Don't really know where people are getting the toothpaste idea from. I tried that and it made the issue worse; don't do it. I used a lens cleaning wipe and scraped off the film on the lens. My lens is spotless now.
