You could download the apps from the market on your evo then email the apks to an account you can check on your fire. Then save the apks on the fire and install using something like Astro file manager.

I know you can sideload dolphin browser because I use it on my Fire. Do you have an adroid phone? That's how I got the ask to install.

I have it! My daughters old phone ran 2.2. I charged it, put it in wifi mode and found your app in the catalog. I was able to sideload it on my Admiral. It seems to work but I do not have an ampanche account so I don't know for sure. PM me your email address if you still are looking for it...

Setting it to automatic only served to make the screen useless outdoors as it was always too dim. Maybe I have a defective phone. No matter what I do the keyboard goes dark unless I am in a very well lit area. I still don't see why Motorola would not give me the option to adjust this. Heck...

I tried with a Kindle Fire, G2, and 4g slide and the app is not compatible with ANY of them. Sorry. Might want to email the developer.

On my fire if I go to "Newsstand" and search for New Yorker the magazine is there. It seems to have horrific reviews. Perhaps its more of an app than a traditional magazine. I don't know the difference because I have never tried a magazine subscription. Perhaps I will give one a whirl.

The only thing I could not do rooted was watch movies from Amazon. I could read books I bought but I admit I did not try the lending library or magazine subscriptions. I do know that you can root,make changes then turn off root using ota voodoo rootkeeper. At least you could before the 6.3 update.

I think you can use hbogo without rooting. Sideload the app. Turn off wifi. Start hbogo. It will tell you that you need an Internet connection. Turn on wifi. Click "Try again" button.

Ok regarding the keyboard backlight, I should have been more specific. No matter how long I adjust the screen timeout, the keyboard backlight will turn off whenever it thinks that I have enough light in the room and I shouldn't need it. The phone is often wrong. It is not really light enough...

I haven't rooted my Admiral so am useless to you. What advantages have you seen rooting it? I did on my Kindle to be able to change the wallpaper and access the to the google market. I guess I am looking for an excuse to root it. If you figure it out can you let us know how you did it here?

Any chance we can get an update that will allow us the option to control the keyboard back lighting? The fact that it turns on and off whenever the senor thinks it should is my major complaint with the phone. I would like to be able to make it stay on when in use. I realize this would drain...
