Hi, I have been having the same issue, my phone info is the same as the original poster, I have not done the kitkat update. From what I am reading here, the update won't solve the problem either. Is this an LG problem?

I have the same issues, and I use the pattern lock.....the emergency- call landscape deal works, but it seems as though this is not an isolated issue and needs to be looked into......I have the factory ROM as well
