    J.B. on Tab2

I'm in the US as well. I saw yesterday evening that the update widget had an 'N' on it, signaling an update, but clicking it said no update available. Even today it doesn't work :/ I thought that maybe Samsung's servers might be overloaded, the only explanation I can think of for the behavior.

    Pictures are always rotated

I'm not sure if this thread will help you, but it'd be nice to get it out of the way before trying anything else: http://forums.androidcentral.com/samsung-galaxy-s-iii/214600-photos-always-being-rotated-why.html Otherwise, I'm stumped, and I'm inclined to say it's a problem with Instagram.

Where did the developer options go?

This is a feature of Jelly Bean, not a consequence of rooting. Google figured that there are certain people who don't need the developer options, people who just use the device as it is. So they hid the developer menu. Go to the settings page, and say about device. You know how if you repeatedly...

    Dropbox storage

When you take a picture with the camera app, the picture is stored wherever you told the camera app to store it to (change it by going to the gear icon on the camera, and changing storage location to external SD) When you use the dropbox app, it doesn't actually save the data to your device...

    Curious Question from a noob!

I always love it when someone is debating over what phone to buy-it means you care about what your tech future holds! As to your question, I believe it can be done natively in the Android OS without installing any apps. This website has a good description: Using tethering with the Samsung Galaxy...

Need help with Samsung Galaxy tab 2 7.0

A good place to go would be the almighty YouTube. It has a ton of demonstrations. What I would recommend is exploring the system. Press buttons (except ones that say FACTORY RESET), long press icons. You can't learn from a book how to use your phone, but they do give you a good place to start.

    home screen help

If you haven't reset it yet, there is a way. If you did, now you know how. Just make a pinching motion on the home screen, and if you did it correctly, the home screen will shrink, and you will see a button that has a '+' on it. Press it to get up to 6-8 home screens (I can't remember which).

    Software issues

You can download backup apps from google play. There are a lot of them. The one I use is ultimate Backup, available here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jrummy.app.managerfree It lets you back up all apps, even system apps, and if you buy the full version, it will link...

    Strange boot loop....

I know that in computers, the motherboard still has residual charge, so if you really want to make sure its discharged, you have to unplug it and hold the power button down. I don't know if you've tried this, but I wonder if holding the power button down for 10-15 seconds [edit: while it is...

    Strange boot loop....

I haven't ever experienced this, but have you tried holding down the power button, either when it starts to turn on or before then? It may give you the option to power off.If you can't select that fast enough, it still may reset an internal memory cell that tells it to turn on when it has power.
